What are "call for nominations"? Each year, the SSIG announces their Call for Nominations. It is at this time that student members can nominate themselves, or another member, to be slated for an executive committee position in the upcoming SSIG elections.

Who can run for a position? Any PT or PTA student member of the IPTA is eligible to run for any position within the SSIG. The IPTA encourages any interested individuals to consider running for leadership positions.

What is the time commitment? We understand that as a student you already have a lot on your plate. Taking on leadership within the SSIG can be as involved as you want to it. Of course there are deadlines that are expected to be met, but the SSIG is all about developing leadership skills that will prepare your for after graduation.

Why should I take on a leadership position? Not only is serving as leadership in your professional association a great resume builder. But, it will help you expand your professional network by meeting active and caring professionals who are willing to assist you on your journey. It is also a great way to make a difference in what you would like see happen as a student member. You are serving as the voice for all Illinois physical therapy students - and with that comes the opportunity to see change. Plus, its a great way to meet friends and have fun!
