TIME TO GET ACTIVE!

If you have ever wanted to get more involved and help make positive change happen for our patients and future careers now is the time!

APTA PUBLIC POLICY PRIORITIES 2019-2020 UPDATE

There are many bills that the APTA is working on. Please listen to the following link from Michael Matlack from the APTA, it is a great summary of all the bills we are focusing on this year. APTA Public Policy Priorities 2019-2020 Update

CONTACT YOUR US REPRESENTATIVE

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed an 8% across the board cut for physical therapy services. It is important to remember that this is a proposed cut and not a final decision. There is still time for our input. The APTA and other groups (like the Private Practice Section) are sending out action alerts on this. When you receive these emails, open them and take action. It takes only minutes of your time and the more voices our representatives in DC hear from, the more action they will take. Remember that our Representatives and Senators work for us. The APTA and IPTA work hard to help us have a unified message at key times. This is why it is important to act on the ACTION ALERTS that are sent out.

FEDERAL ADVOCACY FORUM

Federal Advocacy Forum 2020 is coming up this Spring (March 29-31) and is another way to get more involved. I will be heading up a contingent from IL to meet with our Representatives and Senators. Our job is to educate them and their aides on how important our profession is to the residents of IL. The more our law makers understand our profession the likelier we are to make positive change. This is 2 days of action and positive change in DC.

PT-PAC

Please contribute to APTA's Physical Therapy Political Action Committee (PT-PAC). Our contributions directly help us fight for our profession, like fighting the 8% cut. It really makes a difference. Even doing a $10/month contribution helps. Donate today at ptpac.org.

Let’s make positive change in 2020!
