Friendly Reminder: Student Support Funding for CSM 2019
Applications Due October 28th!

To help students prepare for their future careers in physical therapy, the IPTA encourages all student members to participate in statewide and national events that promote professional development and leadership skills.

Student IPTA members can apply for financial sponsorship to help subsidize travel and registration expenses towards attending APTA's 2019 Combined Sections Meeting (CSM).

Eligibility: Applicants must:

  • be an IPTA student PT or student PTA members and in good standing with the APTA/IPTA;
  • be in good academic standing and currently enrolled in an PT/PTA program.
  • electronically submit their application by the deadline listed below.

Amount: $300 - $500 per sponsorship
Application Deadline: October 28, 2018

Notification will be given to those recipients selected on November 12th. Be sure to read the application and selection process posted on the Student Support Funding page at: www.ipta.org/studentsupport.

APTA's 2019 Combined Sections Meeting will take place January 23-26, 2019 in the historic city of Washington, DC. Thousands of physical therapy professionals and students from across the country will gather exceptional programming devoted to APTA's 18 specialty sections. Registration is now open! ReminderCall.com offers PT Scholarship

Each year, the ReminderCall.com Physical Therapy Scholarship helps the most promising Physical Therapy students achieve their goals and realize their dreams. Five scholarships of $1,000 will be presented to Physical Therapy students who exhibit academic excellence and a strong sense of personal commitment to continuing their education.

Eligibility: An applicant must meet all of the following criteria to be an eligible candidate:

  • Be a United States resident with a valid ID;
  • Be enrolled in a Physical Therapy program in an accredited college in 2018;
  • Be a college sophomore, junior or senior OR a grad student;
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Amount: $1,000 to 5 students
Application Deadline: October 31st, 2018
Scholarships will be awarded December 15, 2018.

APTA Minority Scholarship Awards

APTA's Minority Scholarship Awards recognizes minority PT/ PTA students currently in their final year of an accredited program, and faculty members who are pursuing post professional doctoral degrees for their professional character and academic excellence. These awards are sponsored by the Minority Scholarship Fund and voluntary contributions.

Nominations must be submitted electronically. All materials completed and submitted for each nomination must be received by the APTA Honors and Awards Program on or before December 1, 2018, to be considered for the 2019 Honors and Awards Program. 

Eligibility: An applicant must meet all of the following criteria to be an eligible candidate:

  • be a US citizen or legal permanent resident and a member of one of the following racial/ethnic minority groups: African-American or Black, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, American Indian/Alaska Native, and Hispanic/Latino;
  • be enrolled in the final academic year of an accredited or developing PT/ PTA education program. The student must complete all degree requirements and/or be eligible to graduate September 1, 2018 - December 31, 2019.
  • show evidence of contributions in the areas of minority affairs and services and high scholastic achievement;
  • possess potential for superior achievements in the profession of physical therapy, as well as professional excellence as a PT/PTA.

Application Deadline: December 1st, 2018
Scholarship winners will be recognized during APTA 2019 Honors and Awards Ceremony in conjunction with APTA's NEXT Conference.

Coming Soon: Team Rehabilitation Partners with IPTF
to award $16,000 in Student Scholarships!

Team Rehabilitation, a network of therapist-owed outpatient physical therapy clinics in the Midwest has partnered with the IPTF to award eight Illinois physical therapy students, each with a $2,000 academic scholarship!

This scholarship is intended to recognize and reward Illinois student physical therapists (SPT) and student physical therapist assistants (SPTA) who exhibit superior scholastic accomplishments, and demonstrate promising potential as practical clinicians.

More information is coming, but be on the lookout for when applications open on December 1st.

Eight students will be selected to each receive a one-time stipend of $2,000, funded by Team Rehabilitation. Scholarship winners will be recognized during IPTA’s Awards Luncheon (Saturday, April 6th 2019) in conjunction with IPTA’s 2019 REVITALIZE Conference.
