Falls Prevention Awareness Day
September 22, 2018

Falls are a leading cause of injury for people aged 65 and older, but they are not an inevitable part of aging and there are proven ways to prevent them.

The 11th annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) will be observed on Sept. 22, 2018—the first day of fall.

“Falls prevention is a team effort that takes a balance of education, intervention, and community support,” said Kathleen Cameron, Senior Director of NCOA’s National Falls Prevention Resource Center.

On September 22nd, help promote the vital role that physical therapy plays in reducing fall related injuries.
