MEET A MEMBER: Tina Frank, PT, IPTA Treasurer

The IPTA is proud of our fascinating and influential members who are working hard towards advancing the physical therapy profession.

As we begin 2018, IPTA's Board of Directors welcomes the transition of incoming leadership. Joining the IPTA Board of Directors as Chapter Treasurer is Tina Frank, PT.

Tina Frank, PT has been appointed to serve as Treasurer on IPTA’s Board of Directors for 2018.

Tina resides in the Southern District and has been a member of the APTA since 1995.

In getting to know Tina a little more, we asked as past District Chair and Member of the Finance Committee, how do you feel these previously held positions have prepared you for your new role as Treasurer and a Member of the Executive Committee?

Frank: I have a business background (MBA) and have been working with budgets related to healthcare for ~ 20 years. I really enjoy numbers and excel at managing budgets, which is a strength for me. As an active member of the IPTA for the last 15 years, I’ve held many different positions at the state level including, board of directors (as district chair), nominating committee, membership chair, and finance committee. At the district level, I’ve been involved as chair, secretary/treasurer, nominating committee and Assembly Rep. This broad range of experience at the state and district level has prepared me to be a member of the Executive Committee and as your Treasurer. In the past, I’ve been nominated for other roles on the Executive Committee, but I feel that Treasurer is a role that best fits my skill set. I look forward to serving in this capacity.

In your new role, you are not only the new Treasurer of the IPTA but the IPTF as well. With the IPTF being in its infancy stage are you excited about its potential for growth and future success?

Frank: The Foundation is so important to our future physical therapy profession. On a whole I don’t think we in the profession have done the best job with respect to promoting research, producing evidence, and educating consumers on the benefits of physical therapy. I’m very excited that IPTA has developed the foundation and thrilled with the great progress made so far. The sky is the limit.

Tina, If you had the attention of all the Members, what message would you like to convey?

Frank: Thank you for your membership. Being an APTA/IPTA member is an important step in supporting your physical therapy practice. If you are reading this right now, you are likely an engaged member. Take things a step further and encourage your non-member friends and co-workers to join. There is strength in numbers. We need those numbers to continue to move forward as a profession and secure unrestricted direct access, which I believe is the key to our future.
