Structural Alignment for Spine, Pelvis & Ribcage: An Ortho-Bionomy® Approach

Course Description: In this course, the participants will learn principles, essential elements and techniques that engage an internal self-corrective process, releasing restrictions and pain. These proprioceptive positional release techniques integrate well with other modalities and can easily be incorporated into any client’s treatment plan.

The Ortho-Bionomy ® techniques demonstrated and practiced in this class will:

Help Relieve client’s pain in the joints, muscles, and fascia, as well as referred pain and problems related to nerve impingement.

  • Increase range of motion and flexibility.
  • Speed recovery from injuries.
  • Promote deep, restorative relaxation, stress relief, and bodymind awareness, so important to health and quality of life.

Help the body restore alignment, function, circulation and overall well-being – from the inside-out: 

Course Objectives: In this course: Assessments, proprioceptive positional releases, integration, and good body mechanics will be demonstrated and practiced for the Spine, Pelvis and Ribcage:

  • Four ways to release the psoas without causing pain, a significant factor in lower back pain and posture related conditions;
  • Soft tissue releases that facilitates mobilization of each vertebra of the spine, including every vertebra in the neck, thoracic and lumbar spine, and ribcage;
  • Release that alleviate neck pain, headaches, whiplash;
  • Pelvic balancing, including mobilization for each ilium, the sacrum and coccyx;
  • Releases important in alleviating sciatica;
  • Assessing and alleviating tension and hard to detect pain patterns in the back as caused by rib misalignment;
  • Freeing restrictions in the ribcage, sternum and diaphragm
  • Rebalancing ribs, including raised and depressed ribs, common imbalances of 1st and 3rd ribs and their importance to carpal tunnel, freeing the breath, and overall well-being;
  • Learning how imbalances in the spine, pelvis and ribcage affect endocrine balance / organ function and why this course is a pre-requisite for some others;
  • Learning how to integrate new techniques with modalities you use in your work every Students effectively put new skills to work the very next day.
