The Pelvic Floor: Exploring the Spontaneous Activation of the Pelvic Floor, Abdominal Wall and Diaphragm

Course Description: What actually happens to your pelvic floor when you practice pelvic floor contractions? Do you know what it means to accurately recruit your pelvic floor? Do we know what a normal pelvic floor recruitment looks like during daily activities? Can imagery or breath change the result?

For the past few years, Dr. Anderson has been studying the pelvic floor and gaining insight on how cueing and imagery can change the way we move. After studying hundreds of Pilates teachers, Dr. Anderson's results have been surprising. In this three-hour workshop, Dr. Anderson will not only share his findings, he will also engage the audience through a discussion on intentional cueing of the pelvic floor, mechanical displacement with breath, and spontaneous organization through proper alignment.

Be part of this exciting workshop and discover how good alignment and proper load can be the best cueing available for spontaneous organization of the lumbo-pelvic and trunk neuro-muscular-fascial systems (NMFS).
