The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Council (IWCC) announced
this week that the Illinois Department of Insurance is now accepting Preferred
Provider Program (PPP) applications. The
IWCC also released, in accordance with HB 1698, the PPP notification form, a
document that must be given to an employee by an employer after being notified
of an injury. These announcements come
at the end of a busy two weeks in workers’ compensation reform. Governor Quinn’s office recently appointed 29
arbitrators that will rule on workers’ compensation claims, and seven people who
will serve on the Workers’ Compensation Commission. These actions are part of an overhaul taking
place in Illinois’ workers’ compensation system. For full details, visit the
