The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 72,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.
The Foundation's mission is twofold 1) to fund research that supports the development of evidence-based physical therapist practice; enhances the quality of physical therapist services for patients and clients; and increases the number of physical therapy researchers; and 2) to secure a donor base to support the Foundation's efforts. You can learn more about Foundation events, scholarships and grants, and efforts to advance the PT profession through research by clicking on the logo above.
"It's All About Movement" is this year's National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM) theme. APTA encourages members this October to choose an activity that celebrates movement and shows that PTs -- the movement experts -- help move people forward.
If you are stumped on deciding what type of event to coordinate and host this year, try getting ideas from other APTA members. We invite you to post messages, comments, and ideas on the NPTM Message Board. Share your ideas and learn what other members are doing and what is working for them.
