and Management Approaches of Pavel Kolar and Stu McGill
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose
of this course is to bring together Dr. Stuart McGill and Dr. Pavel Kolar to
compare and contrast their approaches for evaluating and treating patients with
musculoskeletal conditions. Drs. McGill
and Kolar are recognized around the world as experts in their fields and each
of them have a distinct method for analysis and treatment. This course will focus on how clinical
observation and evaluation techniques can help providers with assessing motor
control and spine stabilization. In
addition, emphasis will be placed on active care strategies that can help
improve spine stabilization and how those exercises are linked to clinical
findings. A panel of experts from around
the world will help to facilitation discussion with attendees and the
conference will conclude with areas of research which may help us better
understand these approaches.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
To identify and interpret clinical observation and assessment
for musculoskeletal pain, motor control and spinal stabilization from Drs.
Kolar and McGill
To identify what type of musculoskeletal pain patients succeed
with the work of Drs. McGill and Kolar and more importantly which ones do not
and what is recommended in those cases
To identify and review key clinical skills of diagnosis and
treatment for musculoskeletal pain, motor control and spinal stabilization from
Drs. Kolar and McGill
To practice clinical diagnostic and treatment skills for
musculoskeletal pain and motor control determined important from Drs. McGill
and Kolar
To interact with a panel of experts on the clinical
understanding and applications of the methods from Drs. Kolar and McGill
To identify clinical research need and strategy for expanding or
developing evidence for musculoskeletal pain, spinal stabilization and motor control
surrounding the work of Drs. McGill and Kolar
