That’s right, whether you’re brand new to splint fabrication or find yourself with requests to create more splints than ever before, Successful Splinting: Hands-On Fabrication and Troubleshooting offers the perfect opportunity to hone your skills, gain confidence, and learn to splint like a pro.

Case study-based format covers the anatomy and theory of splinting, introduces you to the latest tools, techniques and materials, and focuses a considerable amount of hands-on time with therapists fabricating several common splints. Taught by highly-qualified professionals with 16 to 38 years of splint-making experience in a multitude of clinical environments, they’re not only experts in the field, they’re passionate about what they do and truly understand the unique challenges you face. Course Objectives:

Course Participants will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in using anatomical landmarks to fabricate an effective splint.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the properties of a range of splinting materials.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the splinting process, including the use of patterns, and design and fabrication of splints.
  • Identify the types of splinting materials used in the hands on portion, their similarities and differences, and one or more use cases for each
  • Create from start to finish the 5 required splint types covered in the course and demonstrate modification of splints for proper fit.
