What is the “Challenge”? The annual Marquette Challenge is a grassroots fundraising effort coordinated and carried out by physical therapists and physical therapist assistant students across the country to support the Foundation for Physical Therapy’s mission of providing funding opportunities to outstanding physical therapist researchers. Last year alone, the combined efforts from students 146 schools across the nation raised over $275,000 in support of physical therapy research.

PT researchers find funding from the Foundation at a time when many other sources are cutting back. Your participation in the Marquette Challenge Banquet will have you leaving the event knowing you contributed to a profession with an even promising future.

The Foundation for Physical Therapy is an organization striving to fund physical therapy research supporting evidence-based practice that enhances the value of patient and client services, and to develop the next generation of researchers.

IPTA’s SSIG, has been recognized nationally for their unique spin on “The Challenge”. The Foundation for Physical Therapy has presented the IPTA’s SSIG with the “Innovation in Fundraising” award (2014)  and “Most Creative Fundraiser” award (2013) for demonstrating leadership, creativity, and initiative in developing, coordinating , and executing an innovative fundraising event.
