State Government Affairs in Illinois

The Illinois Physical Therapy Association is the only organization in Illinois that advocates for the interests of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and their patients/clients.  We are working throughout the year to protect your interests and help shape legislation and regulations that affect PTs and PTAs every day, in areas such as:

• Patient advocacy
• Licensure
• Direct Access
• Referral for Profit
• Licensure encroachment

Elected leaders, staff and IPTA lobbyists represent the interests of the PT community in Illinois year round.  However, member involvement in state government affairs is critical in attaining our state legislative goals.  For more information on how you can be an integral part of our legislative success, email the Chapter office at ipta@ipta.org.
