President Peter J. McMenamin, PT, MS, OCS is a 1979 graduate of the Northwestern University Medical School Department of Physical Therapy. He completed a Master of Science degree at Northwestern University in musculoskeletal physical therapy in 1987. He has specialized in orthopaedic, sports, and work rehabilitation since 1979 and has been board-certified as an orthopaedic specialist (OCS) since 1993.

In 1987 he co-founded Physical Therapy Chicago, Ltd., a physical therapist-owned practice, where he serves as clinician and clinical director. In 2000 he developed Terapia Física de la Villita Chicago’s first, bilingual work rehabilitation center for Spanish-speaking injured workers. Mr. McMenamin also directs a clinical education program for physical therapy students and an Orthopaedic Clinical Residency program for advanced training of physical therapists.

Mr. McMenamin is currently President of the Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) and Treasurer of the Private Practice Section (PPS) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He is co-editor of Private Practice Physical Therapy: The How-To Manual and he edited the APTA Resource Manual on Physician Owned Physical Therapy Services (2004). He is a member of the APTA Self Referral Task Force, and is a frequent lecturer on physical therapy professional autonomy at national and state physical therapy conferences. He has lectured and taught professional seminars in the United States and Europe and has been guest lecturer at Northwestern University, University of Southern California, and the School of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.

 

Vice President Mary Keehn, PT, MS, DPT received her Physical Therapy degree and a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has recently completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Mary is a faculty member in the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she is the Associate Department Head and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy. She is also the Director of Physical Therapy Services and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program Manager at the University of Illinois Medical Center. The UIMC Physical Therapy Department has a staff of 21 physical therapists who provide physical therapy services to a diverse patient population and who play an active and important role in the education of physical therapy students in the academic and clinical setting.

Mary holds an appointment as a Co-investigator in the Midwest Center for Health Workforce Studies in the School of Public Health at UIC and serves as a on site visitor for CAPTE. She recently completed a term as a commissioner for CAPTE, was on the Criterion Review Group for the new set of accreditation criteria and is currently an on site visitor for PT education program accreditation.

 

Secretary Julie L. Rosen PT, MBA is employed by Sava Senior Care as a Regional Rehab Manager. Julie serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Direcors as the Secretary and the Chair of the Bylaws Committee of the section on Health Policy and Administration of the APTA.

Treasurer James Dayhuff, PT, MS, MA is serving his third year as Treasurer for the Association. He has served the Board in the past as Northern District Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, and Ethics Committee Chair. Jim has been an Illinois Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates for 10 years. Jim is an independent contractor for home health care and PT- owned private practices. He is a licensed clinical electroneuromyographer in CA, but is most proud to be a clinical instructor for PT and PTA students for over 35 years.

Chief Delegate Rebecca K. Wojcik, PT, MHPE, GCS teaches in the entry-level physical therapist program at Governors State University and practices in sub-acute rehabilitation. She is certified as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Additionally, Becky serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as the Chapter's Chief Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates. She is a member of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation's Physical Therapy Licensing and Disciplinary Board.

Speaker of the Assembly Sandra J. Levi, PhD, PT, an Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at Midwestern University, focuses her teaching and research in the areas of professionalism and geriatrics. Currently she serves as the Speaker of the Assembly of Illinois Physical Therapy Association.

PTA Director Louise Dolvig, PTA, is employed at St. John's Hospital acute care full time, Lewis Memorial Christrian Village extended care per diem, and teaches Tai Chi community wellness classes at Circle Rehab in Springfield, IL. She is a certified clinical instructor, serves the Illinois Physical Therapy Assocation as PTA Director and the American Physical Therapy Association as the PTA Caucus Representative for Illinois. Additionally she is a member of the Acute Care and Geriatric Sections of the APTA.

Central District: Paul R. Mettler, PT, DPT, is the founder/owner Mettler Center, LLC Champaign, Illinois. He is also a majority owner of Mettler Athletic, LLC in Champaign Illinois. Dr. Mettler is a long standing member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Association, and the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce. His practice has grown rapidly over the past 15 years to include comprehensive fitness/wellness services serving over 2000 members annually. He is the founder of a U.S. service-marked manual therapy intervention coined MRT® which is used to free adhesions in the soft tissue. He has a U.S. patent on an orthopedic sleeping pillow. The Mettler Center, LLC, received two distinguishing awards in 2003: Best Independent Physical Therapy Practice by Advance Newsmagazines and Champaign County Small Business of the Year. 

Eastern District: Dawn M. Piech, PT, MPT, CWS is employed at The University of Chicago Hospitals as the Senior Burn-Wound Physical Therapist. She is a board Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) from the American Academy of Wound Management and participates on the Rehabilitation Committee in the American Burn Association. Additionally, Dawn serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as the Chairperson of the Eastern District and the Vice President of the Acute Care Section of the APTA.

Northern District: Earl Gunther Jr., PT is co-owner of RMS Physical Therapy, PC in Schaumburg, IL, specializing in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Earl serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as the Chairperson for the Northern District. In addition he serves on the Finance Committee.

East Central District: Julie L. Loos, PT, is employed at Edward Hospital. Her primary focus is pediatrics and the NICU. She also coordinates the intern program for Physical Therapy students at Edward Hospital. She is part of the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as Chairperson of the East Central District.

North Central District: Bethany Wiltshire, PT, MS, graduated from University of Central Arkansas in 1995, where she was instructed by the likes of Bill Bandy, Nancy Reese, Venita Lovelace-Chandler, and Glenn Irion.

She has worked in acute care, outpatient, home health, hand therapy, and subacute care before joining the staff at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford in the inpatient therapy (Physical Medicine) department in 1999.

She has been supervisor of this department since 2002, has served as CCCE, and is an active and APTA-certified CI.

Bethany has been the North Central District chair since 2004 and an APTA member since 1993.

Most recently Bethany has been pursuing certification as a canine rehabilitation practitioner through the University of Tennessee, and is affiliated with Rock River Canine Sports & Rehab, LLC.

Southern District: Tina Tebbe, PT, MBA, is the Director of Rehabilitation Services at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. Tina serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Board of Directors as the Chairperson of the Southern District and is the Chairperson of the Membership Services Workgroup. Tina has also served on the Advisory Board for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Southwestern Illinois College, since 1998. Additionally, Tina is active in her community as President of the Highland Arts Council and Chairperson of Highland's Art in the Park.

West Central District: Jane Winders, PT is employed at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield Illinois as the Manager of Outpatient Therapy Services. Jane serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Board of Directors as the Chairperson of the West Central District.

Western District: Amanda Schuler, PT is employed by OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL, as an acute care physical therapist. Professional interests include cardiopulmonary physical therapy and the implications of physical therapy in the intensive care unit. Amanda serves on the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors as Chairperson of the Western District. She is also a member of the Acute Care and Cardiopulmonary sections of the APTA.
