Elected leaders, staff and IPTA lobbyists represent the interests of the PT community in Illinois year round. However, member involvement in state government affairs is critical in attaining our state legislative goals.
Federal Government Affairs
The American Physical Therapy Association provides lobbying and advocacy services for our members at the Federal Government Level. This includes contact with the Legislative Branch (Congress and the House of Representatives) and the Executive Branch as necessary. In addition the APTA Federal Affairs staff
APTA is the ONLY physical therapy association with public policy professionals working with the government for the benefit of all physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
The APTA is the voice of the profession in Washington DC. The APTA's elected leadership and Federal Government affairs staff routinely interacts with national policy makers and regulators on behalf of the profession.
